Description:
Bystander intervention strengthens a respectful culture. This module teaches the 5 Ds framework and safe escalation practices to support colleagues who experience or witness harassment. You will practice reporting, redirecting, and de-escalation techniques in realistic settings.
By the end, you will feel prepared to act with courage and care in diverse environments, including remote and shift-based teams.
Bystander Support Resources
Employees who witness harassment should know where to turn for support. Organizations provide bystander resources such as HR contacts, confidential ombuds, Employee Assistance Programs EAP, and peer support networks.
Availability and access should be clearly communicated, including times, languages, and accessibility. Resources should be confidential, nonjudgmental, and free from retaliation concerns.
Encourage colleagues to seek guidance early and to document concerns when appropriate, while respecting privacy. A central hub or intranet page can help employees find the right resource quickly.
