Overview
Harassment is unwelcome conduct that creates a hostile, intimidating, or offensive work environment. It can be verbal, physical, or visual and may target a person based on protected characteristics or other status. Discrimination involves treating someone unfavorably due to protected characteristics such as race, gender, religion, disability, or age.
In this program, we distinguish between permissible feedback or coaching and conduct that crosses the line into harassment or discrimination. The organization prohibits both harassment and discrimination and expects respectful behavior from all colleagues.
Understanding these concepts helps you recognize risks early, seek help when needed, and contribute to a safer, more inclusive workplace. This lesson provides foundational language and examples to guide your actions.
